Agricola Casaioli Fontinius Trasimeno Rosso DOC
From the young winegrower Giacomo Casaioli, we introduce the best Gamay from Lake Trasimeno. An old grape variety that has grown by Lake Trasimeno since the 17th century. This Fontinius, made from 100% Gamay, was selected as the best red wine in 2023, 2024 and 2025. Take a look at: Castello di Vino in Corciano.
The production of the Fontinius Gamay is limited to only 1,333 bottles per year. The bottles are also all numbered. We are talking here about a very exclusive red wine that delights with its flavour on the palate and the special notes on the nose! The vines for this wine are now 30 years old.
After a first fermentation in steel tanks, a further fermentation is carried out in French and American barriques. This ageing takes place for at least 14 months. The wine is then bottled to undergo a further ageing in the bottle. This takes up to 3 years before it is marketed.
The Fontinius (named after the place Fontignano) pairs well with sophisticated meat dishes and is also suitable as a “meditation wine” in combination with chocolate.
