Tenuta Vitalonga Montenibbio

Tenuta Vitalonga from Ficulle has been marketing this wine for a short time; it is a fine combination of 2 grape varieties: Sangiovese and Merlot. The name Montenibbio comes from the hill of the same name where these grapes grow, at 400 metres above sea level. The label shows a falcon that lives on this hill.
This wine delights with a full flavour, with a light pepper note from the Sangiovese grape but a gentle aftertaste from the Merlot, and has undergone 9 months of ageing in French oak. It pairs well with various meat dishes and dishes of Mediterranean cuisine, but is also a pleasure to drink in the evening with a nice piece of cheese.
