Description

Umbria T Rosso I.G.T. 2010

Only the best grapes are used for this wine, hand-picked and harvested only at perfect ripeness. The name “T” refers to the marquis Tomasso Misciattelli Mocenigo Soranzo, who secretly introduced this grape variety to the Castello di Montegiove estate. The entire production takes place on the estate and the vineyard bears the name “La Selva”.

This vineyard lies at an altitude of 450 to 480 metres above sea level and enjoys a perfect exposure to the sun. This exclusive wine is made from carefully selected grapes and is processed into a top wine in the castle’s cellar. After ageing for 24 months in French oak barriques and tonneaux, this wine matures for a further 24 months in the bottle before being marketed.

This wine has a deep-red colour, with intense aromas of wood and dark fruits on the nose. On the palate it is full of flavour with dark cherries; the tannins are very noticeable, giving this wine a strong personality. “T” is very suitable for long cellaring. It pairs very well with game dishes, wild boar or red meat. It is also very well suited to be enjoyed in the evening with a piece of mature cheese. Drink this wine at a temperature of 18 degrees Celsius.
