Description
Cantina La Veneranda Montefalco Umbria Rosso DOC
The new 2022 vintage has arrived!
The La Veneranda estate has been producing wine and olive oil in this area since 1568 and can look back on a very long tradition. The name “La Veneranda” only emerged at the end of the 20th century and goes back to Maria Aloisa, who ran the estate from 1827 and earned the name “La Veneranda” (the venerable one).
With this Montefalco Rosso, a cuvée of 3 grape varieties, La Veneranda has produced a wine that delights: on the nose red fruits such as cherries, strawberries and raspberries. On the palate a pleasant flavour, fresh, a good balance of acidity and harmonious. The harvest takes place in mid-September. This wine can be cellared for up to 10 years.
The ageing of this Montefalco Rosso DOC takes place over 18 months in oak barrels and afterwards a further ageing of at least 4 months in the bottle. The intense ruby-red colour delights in the glass. This versatile wine pairs well with pasta dishes, homemade noodles with goose meat, red meat or lamb. Drink this wine at a temperature of 16 to 18 degrees Celsius.
