Vitalonga Maravalle Franciosine 1897 DOC
The absolute top in wine. Perhaps this can be called a SUPER UMBRIA wine. This wine is made from only the best grapes, grown on the hills of the Vitalonga estate. The estate has 20 hectares of vineyards at an altitude of 450 metres above sea level. The soil has a good structure of clay and sand. For the production of the Maravalle Franciosine, the winemaker walks through the vineyards many times to hand-pick only the best grapes, and only at the right moment.
This wine is very complex, because it is composed of a cuvée of 5 different grape varieties. On the nose red fruits such as cherries, red berries, blackberries, herbs, pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate a powerful yet very long aftertaste with aromas of chocolate, roasted almonds and forest-fruit jam.
This wine received 96 points from wine critic James Suckling, a leading critic in the wine world. The Franciosine is limited to only 600 bottles. Each bottle has its own unique number of one of the 600 bottles. A wine to enjoy for a very long time. Exclusively unique: rightly a Super Umbria wine!
