Castello di Montegiove Olio di Oliva Umbria
In addition to the top wines that the Castello di Montegiove estate markets, this producer also offers a top-quality olive oil. This cold-pressed olive oil is grown on the castle’s own grounds, and has been for more than 400 years. Most of the olive trees are well over 100 years old and yield good-quality olives.
This olive oil is made from 4 different olives: Moraiolo, Leccino, Frantoio and Pendolino. Most of these are local varieties found almost only in Umbria.
The castle and this estate of 1,250 hectares have belonged to the same family since the 18th century. Important here is respect for nature, which is reflected in the products made by the Misciattelli Mocenigo Soranzo family, with Lorenzo as the current owner.
