Castello di Montegiove

Castello di Montegiove has a history spanning many centuries. Wine and olive oil have been produced here since the very beginning. The Misciatelli Mocenigo Soranzo family has owned this castle, along with over 1,200 hectares of land, since the 17th century. In 2008, successor Lorenzo took over the estate and renovated the castle, including the cellar.

Montegiove belongs to the Orvieto wine region and produces one white wine, one rosé wine, and four red wines, plus a top-quality DOP olive oil. These products are now available at Umbriaweine. The wines feature grape varieties such as Sangiovese, Sagrantino, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as Canaiolo Nero. These wines are dedicated to the ancestors who made all of this possible.

Today, the wine estate has approximately 9 hectares of vineyards that have been replanted over the past decades. In addition, there are hundreds of olive trees, some of which are more than 100 years old.

Daniele Rossi, Torgiano

Daniele Rossi Winery, Torgiano

The small Daniele Rossi winery in Torgiano produces approximately 12,000 bottles per year and offers only 5 different wines. These consist of 2 white wines, 2 red wines, and a Spumante. All wines are made from estate-grown grapes, cultivated across 4.5 hectares of land.

Viticulture is only one part of the estate. The property features several buildings with guest rooms, 2 swimming pools, and numerous facilities for events such as weddings, parties, or conferences.

Culinary wine tour to Umbria.

In April 2025, we organized our first wine tour to Umbria. For a week, we explored the area, visited many places, and enjoyed delicious meals in local restaurants. In addition, we took part in no fewer than 6 wine tastings and a wonderful olive oil tasting at our suppliers.

Are you also interested in such a trip? We plan to organize this again. A precise date is
not yet known, but we expect to be able to organize this between May 14 and 31, 2026.
